Well, TV, my child, in this instance, I would kick this lost password deep into touch (excuse me, for borrowing a British Rugby expression, lol).
There's no way you'll bypass the error that has occured, because of the security screening sees you as a potential interloper. The reason for this, I do not know.
The only thing to do is sign up for a free addy, hotmail, for example, or yahoo and try again. You'llprolly have to amend the username, but your password could stay the same, lol.

Alas, this ain't alays true, triv, I had trouble getting a new password recently, they weren't at my email addy most common error.
Have told them but as thus far, no reply as to any explanation to suggest what the cause might be.

I have downloaded and installed the client but my username is one character too long for the username box, do I have to register a new username in order to play from the downloaded client?

Re-launch the downloaded client and the update will fix that little bug for you.
