Hi,
Great online trivia, looking forward to more.... I know you guys are new, so I won't go through a giant laundry list of features, but I'll toss a couple out there, which are probably already on your list with hundreds of others ....
Easy changes that I believe are important from a usability standpoint:
1. There is no visual indicator of the scores for the last question .. you end up taking a mind-snapshot of current scores, subtracting from the new ones, and trying to figure out what people got.
2. There is no visual indicator of round/question, except between questions ... would be useful small addition to the main screen. It would be nice if it were like: "round 3" and "question 4 of 8" or something like that.
3. There is no time indicator for end-of-round "break". This is beer/bathroom/whatever time & people need an idea of how long they have .. a countdown would be nice.
4. In the help, you might want to add a paragraph more clearly explaining that games start on 30-min intervals, so if you leave, log back in, and click on something it does not restart the game (when I was the only person logged in this was very unclear ... maybe also add more text to the screen where you're joining an existing game).
Other changes:
1. There is very very little indication of what you'll get for buying the Premium service. No screenshots, tutorials, etc. I assume this is just a matter of time, but thought I'd mention it.
2. I have yet to find an online trivia site that offers the ability to create a "private game" where you can have, for example, a movie-quote channel with just you and your invited friends (like the poker sites).
3. An explanation of the word "private" underneath other player's stats when you click on them. I assume that area is going to be used for some type of additional info, but as of right now it's unclear why the word private appears below other user's stats, not below your own (yet you don't have anything that should be private appearing down there). Along the same lines, it would be useful to mention in the help that your stats only update at end-of-game.
4. An explanation somewhere that there is a short-time between questions & you will receive (usually) unrelated info between questions and that those are not questions themselves. |

Thanks for the great feedback. We are still "tinkering" with the in-game user experience and what information to make available when and how. We will take your ideas into consideration for future developments (they are all pretty straightforward and valuable).

As of now, there is not much differentiation between the free and premium services. We haven't specifically decided on a monetization strategy for the game going forward, choosing instead to focus on offering a compelling and feature-rich trivia game experience. We will, at some point, create a clear dilineation between what we provide for free and what requires subscription or membership. We do not intend to cripple our current offering in any way.

We specifically architected our system to allow for this to happen. Though, we haven't rolled out any services based on this ability - it is very much there and will be available in the future.
Again, thank you for your words of encouragement and direction. We hope you enjoy the site and we can continue to improve it for you.

I wanted to give an update to the requests on this thread.

This feature has been added to the current game client.

This has also been implemented.

We hope to implement this in the future; however, for the time being: round breaks are 20 seconds and game breaks (end/start) are 30 seconds.
4. You were right about not showing any truly private information, so the private has been removed. If you'd like to not have that information shown, just don't provide it.

Between rounds, we are now highlighting various game features to allow users to over time become more and more acquainted with game-play features and how things work. We will still be putting a more in-depth help system in place, but in the meantime this has been received very well in "announcing" some of the lesser-known features.
